ROMANO John, 86, of Elmwood Park, died peacefully Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Maple Glen Nursing Home, Fair Lawn, surrounded by his loving family.Born in Williamsport, PA, the eldest child of Pasquale and Angela Romano (nee DiSalvo) he was raised in Sicily, returning to the US in 1948, where he met and married Tina (nee Mangino), on January 13, 1951. They were happily married for 59 years.He had lived in Ridgefield and Toms River before moving to Elmwood Park in 1993.John worked in the Schiffli Lace & Embroidery industry in Fairview and West New York for many years, before he and Tina owned and operated Tina's Card & Gift Shop, Cliffside Park, NJ from 1966 until their retirement in 1984. Together they traveled extensively throughout the world.John is survived by his loving wife, Tina, and their three daughters, Angela M. Welton and her husband, Jim of Cleveland, TX, Patricia A. Chalmers and her companion, William Castel of Paramus, and Tina A. Montone and her husband, Tommy of Elmwood Park. Proud, loving grandfather of Jennifer, Alexis and Jimmy Chalmers, and dear brother of Maria, Vincenza, Nina, and the late Rosa of Italy, and the late Joseph of PA.Funeral Friday 9 AM from the Patrick J.
