COOPER - John Hewitt February 12, 1920 - April 23, 2014 Jack passed peacefully on the afternoon of April 23, 2014, one year after his beloved Audrey. His only child, Bill, was at his side. Jack was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he met Audrey, attended school and eventually became an accountant with Air Canada. Jack raised his two younger sisters, Marguerite and Irene, while looking after his ailing mother after the death of his father; all while Jack was in his early teens. After a short stint with the head office of Air Canada in Montreal in the 1950's, Jack, Audrey and Bill relocated to Beach Grove in the Tsawassen area of Delta, B.C., where Jack and Audrey have lived for the past 55/56 years. Jack is survived by his son, Bill, and his three grandchildren, Taylor, Bryce and Kate. Jack was a founding member of the Tunnel Town Curling Club and was one of its longest serving members when he retired from active play at age 90. Jack was known for his kindness and wonderful smile. He will be sorely missed by his surviving family. A short memorial service will be held at the gravesite at the Boundary Bay cemetery at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 17, 2014. All are welcome.
