HIGGONS-John Axford III, of Irvington, NY, died in Irvington on August 9, 2005, at age 85. He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University's class of 1943, served as a U.S. Navy aviator in World War II and spent most of his business career as an advertising representative and sales executive at Time magazine. Mr. Higgons is survived by his wife of 55 years, June Kennedy Higgons; their children, Nancy Higgons of Sleepy Hollow, NY, Amy D'Elia of Gaithersburg, MD, and Jenny Higgons of Rye, NY; their grandchildren, Gregory and Victoria D'Elia; and Mr. Higgons' sister, Lyn Cranston of Melbourne, FL. Mr. Higgons was the son of J. Axford Higgons Jr. of New York, NY, and Southport, CT, & Dorothy Hunter Higgons of Rye, NY.
