Funeral service for Joan M. Hawkins, 72, was Wednesday, February 8, 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Chapel with interment in Macedonia Cemetery, Ragland. Mrs. Hawkins passed away February 5, 2012. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hawkins; sisters, Opal Couch, Virginia Brown and brother Randy McMichael. She is survived by her sons, Dennis Smith, Michael J. Smith, Jerry Dewayne Smith; daughters, Teresa Lynn Curles, Sherry Delain Dawson; brothers, Sonny McMichael and Timothy McMichael; sisters, Joyce Kirkland, Louise Bonner, Kay Fincher; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
