Joan D. Carter (nee Clegg), of Steilacoom, WA, formerly of New Rochelle, died on August 11, 2004. She was 66. Born on January 25, 1938 in Bronxville, NY she was the daughter of Merold and Ola Clegg. She was a resident of New Rochelle and graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1956. Joan is survived by her loving children Willie Carter of San Francisco and Debbie Carter who is in the military; her mother Ola M. Clegg; her brothers Merold T. Clegg, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Karl W. Clegg, Sr. of New Rochelle; her sisters Karen W. Clegg of Silver Spring, MD and Deborah D. Mills of New Rochelle. She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends. Joan was predeceased by her husband Harry Carter and her father Merold T. Clegg, Sr. Services will be held on August 17, 2004 at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd., Lakewood, WA 98499.
