-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Watson, JeanJean was a lifelong Yonkers resident, the daughter of Robert and Jean Reid. A Gorton High School graduate, she also attended the Catharine Gibbs School. Jean worked as a secretary at Presbyterian Hospital in New York as well as The American Brake Shoe Company. She left those jobs to raise her family, and later returned to work in a temporary position at the Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale. 35 years later she retired from the school.An active part of the community, Jean served on the Board of Directors of the YWCA, Happy Harbor Child Care Center, and was a past president of the Salvation Army, Yonkers Citadel. She was a member of the North Yonkers Community Church, serving as a deacon and as treasurer of the Women's Society.Jean had an infectious laugh and was an avid bridge player. She was a wonderful cook and often read cookbooks as if they were novels.She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, William Watson; her daughter Pamela of Yonkers; her sons Douglas of Rancho Mirage, CA; David of Aliso Viejo, CA; and her grandson Reid, as well as many loving friends. The family wishes anyone so moved make a donation in her name to the Salvation Army, Yonkers Citadel.A memorial service will be held for Jean on Friday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at the Reformed Church in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
