Obituary of Jean-Elizabeth Miller


Jean Elizabeth Miller, 78, of New Smyrna Beach, died peacefully Thursday, September 30, 2010 with her family by her side. Jean was born August 18, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA. She married the love of her life Albert W. Miller, had a family, and later graduated from Helen Ford School of Nursing at West Jersey Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Jean was an Operating Room Nurse for 30 years working in hospitals in New Jersey, New York and Florida. Some of her hobbies included reading, doing the New York Times crossword puzzles, and making the best crab cakes in the world. Jean enjoyed watching baseball, fishing, and traveling with her husband. They were inseparable and illustrated to their family what true love was all about. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Elizabeth Hammann, brother, Bud, beloved husband Al, and son John. Jean is survived by two devoted daughters, Sandra Hayes of Orlando and Janice Keenan of St. Augustine, FL; three cherished grandchildren; three great- grandchildren with a fourth due in January. A gathering of Jean's family and friends to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 10th at the Miller's residence, New Smyrna Beach.
