JANICE ELLEN "JAN" SHORT, 56 LAKELAND - Janice E. Short, 56, was born August 29, 1956 in Pontiac, Michigan. Jan passed away peacefully in her home on January 1, 2013 due to cancer. She is survived by daughters Christina Ortiz and Wendy Glass; brother Dennis Leones; sisters Mary Lawson, Sharon Leones, Susan Whitener, Patty Leones, and Rhonda Leones; and grandchildren Joey, Cassie, Bailey, William, Brett, Benjamin, and Braden. She is also survived by former spouse and close friend William L. Short and son William L. Short, Jr. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2012 from 1 to 2 pm at 1st Baptist Church at the Mall Chapel. Funeral services to follow at 2 pm. Arrangements by Gentry-Morrison Northside Chapel.
