Jane F. Burkeof Newark ValleyJane F. Burke, 84, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2006 following a period of declining health. Jane was born on May 15, 1921 in Vestal, N.Y., the youngest of six children born to Burton and Bessie Robinson Holladay. She was predeceased by her two sisters; three brothers; niece, Barbara Lewis; and husband, Stanley Burke. Jane was a graduate of Binghamton North High School, a member of Blessed Trinity Parish, St. John the Evangelist Church, Newark Valley, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, former Court St. Rose of Lima. She was a former employee of Columbia Mutual Insurance Co, Binghamton. Jane is survived by her dear friends, Shirley and Ralph Held, Owego and Mary Ann Pawlikowski, Sanitaria Springs; her nephew-in-law, David F. Lewis, Catatonk; grandnephew, Gary (Debra) Lewis; and daughter, Courtney, Barton; grandniece, Deborah (Philip) Anderson; and son, David, Long Pond, Pa.A period of visitation will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley, on Wednesday, Jan. 4, from 8:30 to 9:30 in the morning. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Rock St., Newark Valley, with her Pastor, Rev. William A. Moorby officiating. Interment will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery.
