James Thomas Hayes, of Yonkers, died on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at age 74. Born on August 11, 1929 to Thomas and Mary Ann (Sullivan) Hayes in Yonkers, where he attended local schools and graduated from Scared Heart High School. Mr. Hayes worked as a Security Guard for Howland's Dept. Store until his retirement in 1992. On November 11, 1950, he married Margaret Wilson in St. Joseph's Church. She survives. He was an Army Veteran stationed in Japan and a former Cub and Boy Scout Master at Scared Heart. Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by his two sons: James of Oldsmar, FL and Joseph of Norwalk, CT; his nephew, Chuck Mulcahey of Yonkers and his brother, Thomas Hayes of Mahopac. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Daniel, Christopher and Jessica. He was predeceased by his brother, George and survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball F.H. on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, April 21 at 9:30 am. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery.
