Obituary of James-O. Davis


NEW ALBANY -- James O. Davis, 85, of Sellersburg, IN, died Tuesday morning at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School in Louisville. He was a retired general agent for Knights of Columbus Insurance, a member and past grand knight of the K of C Cardinal Ritter Council 1221, the Manzanita Tribe Improved Order of Redmen of New Albany and St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sellersburg. He is survived by his wife, Martha (Crim) Davis of Sellersburg; a son, Bob Davis (Sue) of Sellersburg; two daughters, Betty J. Libs (Richard) of Floyds Knobs, IN, and Beverly Glaser (Glenn) of Jeffersonville; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Davis, formerly of Medford, NJ. Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Thursday at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. There will be a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sellersburg, with burial to follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Kentucky Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 710 W. Main St., Ste. 201, Louisville, KY 40202.
