COWLEY, James H., born in Vance, AL on August 17, 1918, passed to rest in Montgomery on August 18, 2003. After serving in World War II he graduated from the University of Alabama. A member of First Baptist Church of Birmingham. Past Master of Masonic Lodge #384, a member of York Rite and Zamora Shrine for over 50 years. He retired from Ceco Steel after a 32-year career as Director of Personnel. He re-sided in Birmingham until failing health brought him to Montgomery to be closer to his niece and her family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy H. Cowley who passed away on July 28,2003. His survivors include his neice and family, Allen (Regina Cowley) Daniels; greatniece and nephew, Mary Katherine Daniels, James Ryan (Amy) Wells and great great nephew, Jacob Morgan. He appreciated the love and care gi-ven, and all the special nurses and Dr. Malcolm Brown. Appreciation also to the staff of Southern Care Hospice. Services will be held at 3:30 pm Monday, August 18, 2003 at Southern Heritage Chapel in Hoover and burial at Southern Heri-tage Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Overstreet officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist church of Birmingham or one's favorite charity.
