Ivan C. Smith, 91, died Aug. 21, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. He was born in Huntington, W.Va., and lived in Vero Beach since 1987, coming from Belpre, Ohio. He was in the insurance business, owned and operated Belpre TV and Appliance Store and became mayor of Belpre. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Vero Beach, a Mason and a Shriner. Survivors include his wife, Adeline Smith of Vero Beach; sons, Warren Smith of Huntington, William Wason of Richmond, Ky., Kenneth Wason of Camp Meaker, Calif., Michael Smith of Columbus, Ohio, and Charles Shockey of Oglesby, Ill.; daughters, Patty Bowen of Huntington, Paula Fox of Richmond, Va., Deborah Wason of Waterford, Mich., Cheryl Wason of Eagan, Minn., and Patty Raeker of North Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Vero Beach, 1927 27th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
