Obituary of Isabel Mackenzie


HARRIS, Isabel 2008-04-09 It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Isabel Harris announces her passing on April 3, 2008 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with family at her side. Isabel was born and raised in Fort William and was the eldest daughter of Roderick and Margaret MacKenzie. Isabel and her beloved husband Ray enjoyed square dancing, round dancing and also belonged to Boot Loose Bootscooters. They enjoyed traveling to Minnesota and Manitoba to square dance and also to visit their special friends. Isabel worked for the Telephone Exchange as an Operator and Nu-Fashion Beauty Salon and Dreams Beauty Salon as a receptionist until she retired. Isabel loved her jobs and the people she met there. Isabel is survived by her loving husband Raymond and step-sons Denny (Iris), Tim (Sharon) and grandchildren Lance, Tyson, Tiffany, Troy and Kyle; sisters Martha McLeod (Hector), Jean Sippala (Peter) and brother William MacKenzie (Audrey); nephew Mark Gammond (Debbie); special friend Teresa Ranta and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Roderick and Margaret MacKenzie and sister Christina Flanagan. Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation in Isabel’s memory.
