Mr. Irwin Lloyd Smith April 14, 1924 - January 21, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home Irwin Lloyd Smith age 80, of Amherst passed away Friday, January 21, 2005 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Cookville, N.B., he was a son of the late Walter and Myrtle (Anderson) Smith. Irwin worked for many years for Armour Transport. He was a member of Faith United Pentecostal Church, Amherst. He is survived by his wife the former Marlene Snow, one son Alton Smith of Dieppe, N.B.,two sisters Olga (Arthur) Jones of Upper Kent, N.B. and Jean Reynolds of Petticodiac, N.B., one brother Melvin of Fredericton, N.B., step daughter Michelle Hewey of Saint John, N.B. 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 step grandson and 2 step granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Irwin was predeceased by his first wife the former Phyllis Trenholm, daughter Sharon Kay, two sisters Dora and Edith and three brothers Oscar, Ivan and Ormand. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Faith United Pentecostal Church, Amherst with Rev. Jonathan Cole officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the Amherst Cemetery. Donations in Irwin's memory may be made to the Faith United Pentecostal Church Building Fund.
