Obituary of Iris-Pauline McDonald


Iris Pauline McDonald, 85, Shelbyville and formerly of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at her residence. Mrs. McDonald was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of Seymour Christ Temple. Born in Jennings County on Oct. 27, 1922, she was the daughter of William O. and Edna Banks, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 7, 1939, in Seymour, she married Clarence E. McDonald, who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1983. Survivors include one daughter, Maciva "Micki" (Norman) Chancy; one son, William J. (Sandy) McDonald; 12 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren and seven great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary McDonald; daughter, Sharon Simmons; one brother, Orville Banks and four sisters, Lidia Marie Spall, Delsie Simmons, Thelma Amos and Alsie Harmon The Rev. Dennis A. Allman and Rev. Dennis Allman II, will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Cana Cemetery, Jennings County. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Seymour Christ Temple. www.vossfuneralservice.com
