Irene W. Jackson, 81 PORTLAND -- Irene W. Jackson, 81, of Hamblet Avenue, passed away on Oct. 29, 2009, in Portland. She was born in Westbrook, the daughter of Edward and Lucy (Spiller) Warner. Irene grew up in Westbrook, attending school there and working at S.D. Warren in her late teens. She later worked for the City of Portland Hot Lunch Program and spent much of her time at Lincoln Middle and Deering High School. She retired in the 1990s but continued to work in food service at the Italian Heritage Center and Keeley the Katerer. She was a member of Clarke Memorial United Methodist Church in Portland where she was in the Makaria Circle and was a member of the Rainbow Girls in Westbrook. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Jackson Sr. She is survived by a son, Charles E. Jackson Jr., and a daughter, Becky A. Jackson, both of Portland. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland. Arrangements are by Jones Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, Portland.
