LYONS Irene V. (Dykeman) of South Hampton, NH, formerly of Bridgewater and Brockton, passed away after a period of failing health December 1, 2009, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Paul H. Lyons. Loving mother of Victoria G. Haggstrom-Monahan and her husband Bob of South Hampton, NH and Kirk M. H. Lyons and his wife Ann of Riverside, CT. Devoted grandmother of Eric Haggstrom and his wife Michelle, Kurt Haggstrom and his fiance Jennifer, Laura Haggstrom, Kelly Lyons and James Lyons. Dear great grandmother of Cole, Brody, Jake and Kaiden Haggstrom. Daughter of the late Victoria (Martin) Dykeman and John Dykeman. Sister of the late John Dykeman and Elaine Dykeman. Mrs. Lyons was born in Brockton where she grew up and graduated from the Brockton High School. She went on to attend and graduate from the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1947 and became a Registered Nurse. Irene was a Nurse Cadet in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII. After working at the Brockton Hospital for many years she went to work for Dr. Francis Kincus of Brockton for several years. She was a member of the Seacoast Jazz Society, an avid reader as well as an accomplished painter who sold many of her works to local boutiques in the Newburyport and Exeter area. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Graveside Memorial Services Saturday, December 5, at 12 Noon at the Central Cemetery, Randolph, MA.
