REID, Irene Edna (nee Fricker) Past Matron and life member of Hope Chapter OES #184, longtime member of Westboro United Church and current member of City View United Church. Passed away on August 19th, 2010 comfortably with family at her side at the age of 92. She was an exceptional wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed literature, and conversation. Born December 29, 1917, in North Bay, ON., She was raised in a family that taught the value of hard work and the virtue of forgiveness and fair play. Beloved wife of Hunter Reid. Loving mother of Nairn (Molly), Robert (Sandi) and Clyde (Joyce) and daughter-in-law Joan Reid. Cherished grandmother of Devon (Jennifer Puccini), Dawn (Corey Stevenson), Rebecca (James Smith) and Amanda Reid. Loving Great Grandmother of Kathleen, Connor and Wyatt. She is predeceased by her siblings Letitia (Larry Fink), Arthur Fricker and Alwyn Fricker (Corrine) and Wilma (Gordon) and survived by her sister-in-law Betty Fricker as well as numerous nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank the staff of the Queensway Carleton Hospital for the excellent care provided and especially Dr. Cohen for the direct but compassionate provision of information. The family shall receive friends at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline and Bayshore Drive), Ottawa on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. until service time in the chapel at 12:30 p.m. followed by a reception and then interment at Capital Memorial Gardens.
