TAYLOR Irene "Louise" 1929 - 2006 After a courageous battle with cancer, we sadly announce the passing of I. Louise Taylor (nee Christian) on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the age of 76 years. Born October 18, 1929 in Edmonton, Louise was the youngest of eleven children born to Dr. Irvine and Louise Christian. Louise was an ardent gardener and enjoyed socializing and playing bridge with close friends. She never turned down an invitation to a game of crib or crazy eights or to play poker with her grandsons! Her greatest legacy to each grandson is her love. Every hug told them how much they were loved. Her spirit and values live forever in the hearts of these special young men. "Replace our tears of sadness with those of joy at her birth in eternity." Louise and her husband of over fifty-five years, Jim, shared their lives with their children, Don and Tannis of Winnipeg, MB, Susan, Jim Jr. and Debbie, all of Calgary. She will also be sadly missed by grandsons, David (Katyna), Paul, Benjamin, Christian, and Mitchell. Louise is survived by brothers, Wes, Donald and John; sisters, Betty and Ruth; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Bruce and Gordon; and sisters, Elsie, Margaret and Edith. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Louise's life at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) today, May 13, 2006 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 (Telephone 403-521-3433). The family would like to thank Dr. M. Preller, Palliative Care Nurse Barbara, Caregiver Fern, and Susan Brown. To the staff at Carewest Sarcee - you are "angels" - thank you. In living memory of Louise Taylor, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: 403-256-9575.
