She was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Sutton, to Shirley S. and Annie M.(Quimby) Call, and was a lifelong resident of Sutton, attending Sutton School. She served as town treasurer for more than 30 years and as school treasurer for the final 10 years of the Sutton Central School prior to formation of the Kearsarge Regional School District. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was sometimes adventurous, having her first motorcycle ride after the age of 80. She loved music, playing the piano, sewing, cooking, ironing, babies, teaching children and raking, as well as history, maps, handwork, braiding rugs, and painting. She cherished being addressed as Gram, Grammie Davis, Mimi, Grandmimi and Shirl, thus was always introduced to friends this way by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was happiest when opening her home to family and friends and could turn dinner for four into dinner for 14 on little warning. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald C. Davis, in 1983, her grandson, Lawrence S. Ford, her great-granddaughter, Amber Hanson; her brother, Leon "Bud" Call and her sister Dorothy Call. She is survived by her son, Donald C.
