Inez Powell Williams formerly of LeRaysville, Pa. Inez Powell Williams, 93, formerly of LeRaysville, Pa., passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009, at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Memorial Hospital, N. Towanda Twp. Pa. Born March 17, 1915 in Pike Twp., Pa. she was the daughter of the late David Powell and Cora Crawford Powell. Inez attended school in LeRaysville. On October 10, 1931 she married Harold "Tony" Williams. Inez was employed by Dr. Harry Brown and Dr. Raymond Bennett at the LeRaysville Clinic for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of LeRaysville Chapter No. 498 Order of Eastern Star where she formerly served as District Deputy. Inez attended the Dille Parish United Church of Christ in LeRaysville. She enjoyed annual fishing vacation trips to Canada for over 60 years. Inez will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends for the countless greeting cards for all occasions sent to them over the years. She is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Jane Williams, Endicott, N.Y.; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Edward Franklin, Sugar Run, Pa., Eileen and Gary Green, McSherrystown, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Noreen Hubbard and her husband William Hubbard, Windsor, N.Y., Thomas Franklin, Spring Lake, Pa., William Franklin and his wife Heather Franklin, Warren Center, Pa., Nancy Townsend and her husband Jack Townsend, Wyalusing RD, Donald Franklin, Towanda RR 2, Kris Green and her husband Michael Williams, Camp Hill, Pa., Kimberly King and her husband Randy King, Hanover, Pa.; 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; brother, David Powell, West Newton, Pa.; sister, Erdine Toft, Owego, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, on August 28, 1983, a grandson, Stephen Franklin, brother, Gerald Powell, and sister, Wilma Powell. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 19, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa. with Rev. John Dabback, pastor of the Sugar Run Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The LeRaysville Chapter Order of Eastern Star will hold a memorial service Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
