Ms. Ida Mae Gault SPARTANBURG, SC-- Ms. Ida Mae Gault entered rest on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at her residence after a brief illness. Ida Mae was a native of Spartanburg, SC. She was the daughter of the late Ms. Beatrice Hames and Mr. Edward Gault. Ms. Gault is survived by her sister Ellen (Leon) Wilson. Ida Mae attended Spartanburg County Schools. She retired from Converse College after more than 25 years of service. Ms. Gault was a former member of Majority Baptist Church and current member of New Day Baptist Church. She was actively involved in the church. She was a member of the Women's Missionary group. Ms. Gault was also a member of Sara Simmons Chapter #321 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Duncan Park Sympathy Club. Left to cherish loving memories is her immediate family; two daughters, Mrs. Yvonne (Joe) Walker and Ms. Beatrice "Kim" Gault, both from Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Ms. Latasha Gault of Spartanburg and Mr. Antonio Gault from Charlotte, NC. Ida also had two great-grandchildren, Yasmine Gault and Ethan Gault. She also has a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Ms. Gault was predeceased by two sisters, Georgia Mae Johnson and Janie Fowler. The family will receive friends at the home, 406 East Hampton Avenue, Spartanburg. J. W. Woodward Funeral Home
