Falkville<!--Falkville-->Funeral for Ida Lou Weatherford Johnson, 83, of Falkville will be Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Gamble, the Rev. Wesley Waddle and the Rev. Burt Bunner officiating.Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Johnson, who died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born Nov. 17, 1925, in Arkansas to John Burly Weatherford and Mayme Hibbard Weatherford. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and worked in the lunchroom of Bethel Baptist School for 14 years. She was a longtime resident of Wood River, Ill. She was married to John R. Johnson on June 16, 1944, and moved to Hartselle in 1989. Mr. Johnson died in 1993. Survivors include one daughter, Redonda Homesley (Dennis), of Hartselle; two brothers, John Weatherford of Lake Isabella, Calif., and Don Weatherford of Pocahontas, Ark.; one sister, Reva Brady of Cartersville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Jonathan Homesley, Nathan Homesley and Rachael Waddle; and five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Emily, Timothy, Anna Grace and Luke.Pallbearers will be Frank Waddle, Harold Dunaway, Bud Lucas, Ernest Austin, Jerry Lett and Ed Monroe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer&#8217;s Foundation.
