Beloved husband of Jean (nee Knight) MacLellan of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Westport, Ontario. Proud father of James (Debra) of Airdrie, Alberta; Catherine (Brian Derick) of Ottawa, Ontario; Joseph (Ellen) of Spencerville, Ontario; Michael (Michelle) of Kemptville, Ontario and Susan of Westport, Ontario. Loving grandfather of Sarah Jean and Michael MacLellan of Airdrie, Alberta, Philip Derick of Ottawa, Ontario; Taylor and Lindsay Gibbons of Spencerville, Ontario; and Matthew MacLellan of Kemptville, Ontario. He is survived by his brother, Cameron (Irene) McNeil, Sydney, Nova Scotia. He was educated in Halifax at St. Thomas Aquinas, Saint Mary's College High School, Saint Mary's University and in Lansing, Michigan at Michigan State University. Commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy 1 June 1956, his naval career included service at Shearwater, Naden, Esquimalt, Ottawa and in the destroyers HMCS SIOUX and HMCS QU'APPELLE. He was predeceased by his parents, Angus and Eva (McNeil) MacLellan of Halifax, Nova Scotia and siblings Sally (Reg Baker) and Joseph (Joyce). Funeral Mass will be at St. Columbanus Church in Elgin, Ontario at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. Private interment. The Ottawa Citizen, 15-03-2002
