JOHNSON Horace Albert “Al” Johnson, age 78 of Orange Park, FL passed away January 10, 2007 at the Earl B. Hadlow Center in Jacksonville, FL following a lengthy illness. He was born June 20, 1928 in Clementon, NJ, the son of Howard Johnson and Edith Kimball Johnson. He retired from the U.S. Navy following 28 years of distinguished and decorated service during the Vietnam era. He was an accomplished yachtsman and enjoyed competitive sailing and had served as past Commodore for the Navy Jax Yacht Club. He was also an avid photographer. Al was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Reba Johnson; his sons Mark Leslie Johnson and wife LuAnne, and Kevin Craig Johnson and wife Nanci, all of Orange Park, FL; his step children Jack Dwain Price and wife Duan of San Gabriel, CA, Janet Price Cunningham and husband Richard of Collegeville, TX, and Dr. Brian Craig Price and wife Tamara of Orange Park, FL; also 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother George “Bud” Johnson. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday January 15, 2006 in the chapel of JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park with Rev. Roy Nail officiating. Family members will greet friends immediately prior to and following the service at the funeral home.
