ObituaryHilda Hendricks, 94, passed away on March 1, 2006. Hilda was born Dec. 5, 1911, in Liverpool, TX, to John & Ona Hendricks. She spent her younger years in Murray, KY, and in 1925 moved with her family to Bonita Springs. She graduated from Fort Myers High School and went on to attend FL State College for Women (FL State University) and graduated in 1934 with a Bachelor of Science degree in math. She also attended Cornell University and Univ. of California in Los Angeles. Hilda taught school in the public schools of Lee County for three years and West Palm Beach for twelve years. She also taught for two years with the Air Force Education Program at Itazuke Air Force Base in Japan. Hilda returned to Fort Myers and became a realtor working for Douglas Chambers Real Estate Co. and Woody Mays Realty for 20 years before retiring. She was a member of the Unity Church in Fort Myers. Hilda spent her latter years at The Palms Retirement Center, in Fort Myers and The Aristocrat Assisted Living facility in Naples. Hilda is survived by her brother, Samuel Hardin Hendricks, of Highsland, NC and four nieces and nephews.There will be a memorial service held at the Unity Church in Bonita Springs on Livingston Road on Tuesday, March 21 at 2 PM.
