Hettie Mills Smith - RIDGELAND, SC - Hettie Mills Smith, 91, widow of James Vernon Smith, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in the Ridgeland Nursing Center in Ridgeland, SC. She was born in Lodge, SC on April 17, 1917 to the late James B. Mills and Josephine Rebecca Bell Mills. She was a Seamstress for Holiday Wear Manufacturing Company; a member of Ridgeland Baptist Church where she was a Senior Singer and she was an Avon lady for many years. She is survived by four sons, James V. Smith, Sr. of North Charleston, SC; Johnny M. Smith of Hilton Head Island, SC; Marshall L. Smith of Moncks Corner, SC; Robert M. Smith of Ridgeland, SC; one sister, Annie Laura Smith of Beaufort, SC; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Ridgeland Baptist Church with burial in Carters Ford Cemetery located between Lodge, SC and Smoaks, SC. A visitation will be held from 6 til 8 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the funeral home.
