Hester Smith, age 88, of Strafford, Mo., completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, in her home. She was born January 1, 1922 in Chadwick, Missouri, to Walter and Lena (Hensley) Walker. She attended Praise Assembly. Hester was a devoted mother and loving grandmother.She was preceded in death by her husband, Odes Wilburn Smith; her parents, Walter Joseph and Lena Walker; three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Smith, Strafford, Mo., Connie Forester and husband Dee of Strafford; four grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa Keithley, Christy Harris, Christopher Forester, Mason Forester; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers and her adopted by love family, Carol and Alan Botsford and children. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo., with Rev. Billy Burris officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. No formal visitation is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo.
