Smith, Hester M. Gates: Thursday December 18, 2008 at age 96. She was predeceased by her fourteen brothers and sisters. Hester is survived by her sister-in-law Pat Smith and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Hester was a retiree of Gates-Chili Central School District and an avid collector of, and dealer in, antiques. The family extends thanks to several dedicated care givers who enabled Hester to remain in her home. A gathering will be held in Hester's memory on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 4:00 PM at the home of Greg and Sue Smith, 400 Farrell Road Ext., West Henrietta.
