JORDAN, HERBERT FRANKLIN, 82Herbert Franklin "Herb" Jordan, 82, of Dunnellon, Florida Highlands, Florida, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at home. He was born December 15,1926 in Cullman, Alabama, son to the late Emerson and Alice (Harris) Jordan. He moved here in 1990 from Orange County, California For 32 years Herb was a Branch Manager with Alcoa Aluminum, formerly Howmet Aluminum, Orange County, CA, retiring in 1990. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Philippines. Herb was of the Christian faith. He loved fishing, collecting knives and had a pilots license and flew a Cessna 152 Airplane. Herb was also preceded in death by his son Ronald Herbert Jordan in 1986 and sisters Elsie Perry and Delphia Vonner. He is survived by: His wife of 25 years: Dorothy Jordan, Dunnellon: son Donald Franklin Jordan, Xiamen, China: 3 daughters: Judy Jordan, Miami, Jennifer Taylor, Tallahassee and Jon! Hercules (Ron), Dunnellon: 2 step-sons: Eddie DelCarmen and Joe DelCarmen, both of Orange County, CA: 2 step-daughters: Doris Green (Kohl), Tucson, AZ and Della Favre (Mark), Orange County, CA: former wife Syble Rogers, Dunnellon: 16 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. An urn committal ceremony will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 1:30PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with the Marion County Memorial Honor Guard officiating. Memorial Contributions in Herb's Memory may be made to ones choice. Arrangements are under the care of Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, still family owned.
