Henry R. Agnew, 96, passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the N.J. Fireman's Home in Boonton, N.J. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, N.J. Born in Gourock, Scotland, Henry had lived in Old Bridge before moving to Boonton. He was a fireman for the City of Newark, N.J., for 30 years, retiring in 1979, and had also worked part-time for Newark Testing Laboratories for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard; a member of the American Legion, and a member of the Old Bridge VFW Post 7508. He enjoyed golf, fishing, horse racing, and loved spending time with family and friends. Henry was predeceased by his wife, Muriel, and his granddaughter, Alison. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Carl Moore; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Al Hawthorne; his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Ray Scardelli; his grandchildren, Amy, Cory, Shauna, Nick, and Alyssa, and his great-grandchildren, Delaney, Camryn, and Hadley.
