Henry N. &#x2018;Hank&#x2019; Gallagher PORT EWEN - Henry N. &#x201C;Hank&#x201D; Gallagher, 63, of The Hills, Port Ewen, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, while surrounded by his loving family, at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Kingston, on April 14, 1951, a son of the late Raymond O. and Evelyn (Green) Gallagher. Hank was raised in the Stone Ridge and High Falls area. He and his wife, Kathleen (Flanigan) Gallagher lived in Hurley for 25 years, moving to Port Ewen in 2001. He was employed as a plant manager for Cranesville, Kingston, and was known as a &#x201C;Jack of all Trades, especially with carpentry work. He was an associate member of the Ulster Detachment of the Marine Corps League where he was very involved with the Toys for Tots program, and also involved with the Ulster County Vietnam Vets Memorial in Kingston. He was also an avid Nascar fan, and a history buff Hank&#x2019;s passion was boating on the Hudson River, which he did for over 25 years, and enjoyed hanging with his fellow boaters and good friends at the Rondout Yacht Basin. Most of all, he was a devoted family man, and loved his Shih Tzu&#x2019;s: Ruby, GiGi, and Chinsing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Patrick M. Gallagher and his wife Melissa of Ruby, two brothers, Raymond O. Gallagher and his wife Kim, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Robert S. Gallagher and his wife, Laurie of Rosendale, one grandson, Brendan Gallagher, six nieces and nephews, Shawne Ryder, Lou and Casey Lynch, Kelly and Colleen Gallagher, and one grandnephew, Shawnie and one grandniece, Ailene Lynch. He is predeceased by one sister, Liz Lynch. The service will be held at 7:15 p.m., Friday at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, certified celebrant Harry VanVliet IV, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 4 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Cremation at Wiltwyck Crematory, Kingston will be private.
