Henry McGee - Savannah -Henry McGee, 88, of Savannah, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital, surrounded by his loving daughter and granddaughter. He was born in Screven County, GA. He was the only son of his moil-per and father Henry and Prescilla McGee. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and five sisters. He was a member and Deacon at Mt. Olive Holiness Church in Garden City, Georgia. Mr. McGee was a retired General Contractor where he bought renovated and rented many homes in the Savannah area providing affordable housing to many of its residents. He also helped in the formation of the Savannah Area Minority Contractors Association. He worked tirelessly with the Live Oak Neighborhood Association and the local civil rights movement. He is survived by his wife Missionary Wilhelmina Cutter McGee; three daughters, Dr., Shirley McGee Brown of Savannah, Vivian Macalpine (Robert) of Cromwell, CT, Vernell Welcher (Gregory) of Augusta, GA, Meshell Harris, of Jacksonville, FL; one son, Terry Roberson of Screven County; four Godchildren Ethel Lee Sheppard, of New York, Frankie Wilsian Fickling ( Arthur) of Savannah, Robert Solomon and Edith Solomon both of Savannah, eleven grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives, friends, and church family. Funeral Services: 1 p.m., Friday at Fairlawn Baptist Church 4719 Augusta Road, with interment in Hillcrest Abbey West. Williams & Williams Funeral Home 1012 E.
