On Saturday, January 22, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, Helen Williams passed from this life into her next adventure following a courageous battle against cancer. She passed away at her home in Pensacola, Florida. She was born on March 27, 1958 to the late Joseph M. Williams and Marcile Lowery Williams-Lonon and grew up in Asheville, NC. A devoted wife and mother, she was also an aspiring novelist. With a fiery, feisty personality she was known for having a stubborn determination to live by her high personal standards. A lifelong learner, she saw life as an adventure and inspired the same in all who really knew her. With a bold, fearless spirit, her family and friends looked to her for encouragement and inspiration. Her proudest accomplishment would undoubtedly be the satisfaction she received in raising her two sons. She was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in various capacities and at numerous bases during her tenure in service to her country.Surviving are her husband, John S. Butsch of the home; two sons, Connor Umbach and Alec Butsch, both of Pensacola; her siblings, Joseph M. Williams, Jr. of Hillsborough, NC, Sandra Yvonne Crouch of Carrollton, GA, Donald Etheridge Williams of Arden, NC and Lisa Williams of Johnson City, TN.A celebration of her life will take place on January 28, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at North Cove Baptist Church. The family will greet friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites.
