Obituary of Helen-V. Lucas


LUCAS Helen V. (Franko) Lucas, age 89, of Stratford, died on Monday, April 12, 2004, at the Bridgeport Health Care Center. She was the widow of James Lucas. Mrs. Lucas was born in Bridgeport to the late Andrew and Veronica Franko, and had been a Stratford resident for more than 50 years. She had been employed at Singer Sewing Machine for many years where she met her beloved husband. Mrs. Lucas had been an active communicant at St. James Church. She is survived by two nieces, Linda Telep of Boston, and Dr. Donna Telep-Manclark and her husband, Ian, of Vancouver, Wash.; her godson, Grant Manclark of Seattle; three sisters-in-law, Rose Franko of Stratford, Marion Franko of Shelton, and Ann Franko of Milford; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She had been predeceased by three sisters, Jean Telep, Sister Richardine, S.S.N.D. and Veronica Franko; and seven brothers, Andrew, William, Richard, Steve, Albert, John and George. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, April 16, 2004, at 10:15 a.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, and at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
