Helen Townsend, born in 1950, spouse of Nelson Townsend, mother of Bradford, Carolyn, Az, Clifford and Karen, died on May 4, 2010 at 60 years old.
TOWNSEND Helen (Kimak), 91 of Clifton died peacefully, Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Born in Bakerton, PA, she resided in Passaic before moving to Clifton 60 years ago. Helen was employed as a records clerk for Beth Israel Hospital in Passaic prior to her retirement. Previously, she had been employed by Fisher Stevens Inc. in Clifton and Western Electric Co., in Kearny. Helen is a former communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church in Passaic. She was an active member of the Clifton Republican Club and the Allwood Civic Assn. as well as an avid baker. Helen is predeceased by her husband, Nelson Townsend, by two brothers, Michael and Frank Kimak and by three sisters, Anna Kimak, Marie Gilday and Catherine Czesak. She is survived by two sons, Bradford and wife, Carolyn of Chandler, AZ and Clifford and wife, Karen of Freeport, ME, by two grandsons, Elliott and Gregory Townsend, by two sisters, Olga Kimak of Clifton and Fannie Mc Clain of Lincolnton, GA, by six nieces and nephews and their families. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660-670 Allwood Road, Clifton followed by burial at Cresthaven Memorial Park. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
