Obituary of Helen-S. Gould


GOULD, Helen S. Residing in the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 297 North Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY, died peacefully on July 12 at the Center. She was born in Norwalk, Ohio on May 9, 1908 and attended school there where she played both the violin and basketball. She attended Antioch College where she met and married her husband George. She lived for many years in Niagara Falls, NY where she was active in Mothers Club and the Council of Mothers' Clubs. She also lived for many years in Elmira, NY where she was active in the Sports Car Club of America and she served on the Board of the North Presbyterian Church, 921 College Ave., Elmira, NY. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-six years, George C. Gould Jr., who died in 1985, and her younger son, Thomas A. Gould, who died in 1998. She is survived by her oldest son, George C. Gould III; four grandsons and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY and she will be interred in the family plot at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY. The family requests donations be made in Helen's memory to North Presbyterian Church, 921 College Ave., Elmira, NY 14901 in lieu of flowers.
