Helen Ruth Fleming Sweet of Whitney Point Helen Ruth Fleming Sweet, 94, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert E. Sweet in 1984; sisters, Wanda Friedel, Thelma Teelon, Dorothy Hendrickson and Jean Briggs. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Sweet of Whitney Point; two sons, Thomas (Dolly) Sweet of FL, Charles (Caryl) Sweet of Lisle; one sister, Elsie Wntjen of Bainbridge; two brothers, Millard Fleming of Bainbridge, Dewitt (Sam) (Alura) Fleming of Guilford; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Helen graduated from the Wilson Memorial School of Nursing in 1937 and was employed with the Wilson Memorial Hospital from 1937-1945. She also worked with Dr. Glenn Tymeson and Dr. Daniel Driscoll in Lisle for 20+ years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the Countryside Christian Chapel at 2 p.m. with Reverend Bruce Glazier officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Countryside Christian Chapel or the Northern Broome Senior Center.
