Helen Rice Carter, age 93 of Philadelphia, PA formerly of Wenonah and Cherry Hill passed away Friday, February 17th, 2012. Born in Jeannette, PA, she served in the US Navy during WWII and was stationed in Hawaii. Helen loved dogs and cats, especially her dog Suzy. She was active with the Women's Auxiliary to Underwood-Memorial Hospital and ACLU of NJ. Wife of the late Wayne Warren Carter, she is survived by her sons, Raymond Carter and his wife Tobi of Philadelphia, A B Carter and his wife Joanne of Toronto, Canada, seven grandchildren, Lark, Todd, Jordan, Gretchen, Jessica, Kate & Nick and seven great grandchildren, Rachel, Andrew, Riley, Emily, Ben, Elsa & Theo. Helen was predeceased by her sister Ruth and her brothers Ted and Don. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 11:30 AM to 12 PM on Monday, February 27th, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 47 Main St., Mantua, where funeral services will be held at 12 PM.
