MORRISSEY Helen Reilly Morrissey, age 81, beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Morrissey, formerly of Main Street, Stratford, died on Thursday, December 18, 2003, Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on New Years Eve, December 31, 1921, to the late Patrick and Nellie Wuterich Reilly, Helen was a life area resident and graduate of Central High School. She was the "Pillar" of the Morrissey Family and devoted herself to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her loving children and their spouses, Suzanne and Alain Champagne of Milford, Christopher Morrissey of Stratford, Jonathan Morrissey of Florence, Ky., Kevin and Evelyn Morrissey of Stratford, Brian Morrissey of North Heaven, Deirdre and Joseph Miller of Stratford, Sheila and David Fitzsimmons of St. Louis, Mo., Sean and Diane Morrissey of West Haven; 14 grandchildren, Maureen and her husband, Peter Knights, Michael and his wife, Nicola Leonetti, Gregory and his wife, Denise Schock, Kevin and Kurt Schock, Marybeth and her husband, Jay Jamron, Colleen and Michael Morrissey, Meggie Miller, Timothy, Erin and Patrick Fitzsimmons, Nikki and Frank Ailstock; 11 great-grandchildren, peter, Charles, Olivia, Sophia, Daniel, Matthew, Hannah, Ashlie, Alesha, Callie and Isiah; and several nieces and nephews; also her brother-in-law, Joseph Morrissey and his wife, Virginia. She was predeceased by her brother, William Gordon Reilly. Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church for Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 3 to 78 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford.
