Helen Miller, 81, Venice, died Jan. 8, 2005. She was born Jan. 29, 1923, in St. Andrews, Romania, and came to Venice in 1978 from Baltimore. She received an RN degree from Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore and was a registered nurse. She was a member of Venice-Nokomis DOES 141. She was a Protestant. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, William; daughters Elizabeth of Baltimore, Katherine De Ruiz of Sarasota and Nancy of Philadelphia; a son, William L. of Baltimore; a sister, Catherine Kolhoff of Baltimore; a brother, Pete Lay of Baltimore; six grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 29 at Ewing Funeral Home. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, is in charge.
