HELEN L. MILLER PORTAGE, IN Helen L. Miller, age 84, of Portage, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008. Helen was born on December 10, 1923 in St. Joseph, IL to the late Harold and Beatrice (McGraw) Denhart. Helen was married to the late John Miller. She is survived by sons: Rudolph (Sheilah) Miller of Portage, Ronald (Brenda) Miller of Kingwood TX and Charles Miller of Spring TX; daughters: Christina (late Robert) Kaszniak of Valparaiso, Clarissa (Dale) Yarvis of Portage and Theresa (Dan) Barkas of Valparaiso; sister, Lois Joan (late Bennie) Row of Pasadena TX; grandchildren: John, Michael (Carla), Kristofor (Donna), Tiffany (Brian), Ryan (Nickolette), Kari (Matthew), Cassandra, Robin (Joseph), Derek (Nicole), Nicole (Kevin), Kristi, Dana and Sam; great grandchildren: Zachary, Megan, Kate, Zoe, Sullivan, Shontiel, Dante, Alexis, Patric, Kortney, Preston and Charli. Helen was preceded in death by brothers: Robert Denhart, Richard Denhart, Thomas Denhart and Jean Denhart. For the past 43+ years, Helen had been an active member and volunteer for the Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church and assisted in weekly Mass at both Fountainview Nursing Home and Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Portage. Helen also volunteered as a money counter as well as in the food pantry for the church. She was well known for her crocheting and made many beautiful baby afghans for family and friends. At age 74, Helen bungee jumped while on vacation in Alabama attesting to her conviction that life should be lived to the fullest. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation at 9:00 a.m. in Nativity of Our Savior Parish, Portage, IN. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, and 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368. The family would like to personally thank everyone at the Hospice Center for the loving care and respect shown to our mother.
