AUGUSTA, Ga. - Helen Josey McDonald entered into rest on Friday July 11, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Monday July 14, 2014 at Elliott Sons -Lumpkin Road Chapel. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Helen was one of three children born to the parents Dewy Lawson and Maitland Josey in Washington County. She married Oscar McDonald in 1947; they shared 61 years together until he passed away in 2008. Helen was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1969. She enjoyed her dogs and her Holly Hill Beauty Shop which she had for over 40 years. A woman of many talents and enjoyed sewing, making jewelry and handbags for her shop and was a great cook. She will be missed by all left to cherish her memory. Survivors include nieces Sonja J. Rains and Janice Taylor; nephews Craig Peoples, Eddie Peoples. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Sunday evening at Elliott Sons -Lumpkin Road Chapel 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta GA 30906.
