White, Helen Mary WilsonDec. 27, 1910 - March 8, 2011Helen Mary Wilson White, born in Scranton, Pa. Dec. 27, 1910 passed away most peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 8, 2011 at age 100 yrs. A seven year resident of Alderman Oaks, Sarasota, formally resided at Beacon Woods, Hudson, Fla. and Little Falls, N.J. Helen was married to the late Wesley White and was the daughter of the late Edith and Arthur Wilson. Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a loyal friend to more people than one can imagine. She was a perfect example of "the spirit of Christ" in her relationships throughout her long life. Helen had three loving daughters, Lois Leeds (Sidney), Sallie Purves (Richard), and Barbara White (Deborah Snow); eight grandchildren, Bob Leeds, Peter Leeds (Sandra), Pat Leeds (Bill), Glen Purves (Kate), Doug Purves, Pam Zummo (Frank), Molly McColgan (Ted Barragy), and Carrie McColgan-Branson (David); and 22 great-grandchildren, with twins expected in July. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at Harvest United Methodist Church, 14305 Covenant Way, Lakewood Ranch.
