Helen-Marie Miller, born in 1917, spouse of Clarence Fraser, daughter of Stanley and Grace, mother of Thomas, Jane, Julie, Dean and To, died on December 12, 2008.
FRASER, Helen Marie (nee Miller) - passed away Friday, December 12, 2008 in Sarnia following a brief illness. Helen was born in Sarnia, March 10, 1917 to Grace (Alexander) and Stanley Miller. She lost her mother Grace during the worldwide flu epidemic of 1917-18. Stanley Miller married Mary May and together they provided young Helen with sisters Dorothy (McCracken), Virginia (Armstrong) and brother John. Helen married Clarence Fraser in 1942 before he left to join the Royal Canadian Air Force in Britain. On his return in 1945 Helen and “Fraser“ raised four children: Thomas David, Jane Elizabeth, Julie Carolyn and Dean Scott. Dearly loved Tom passed away at the age of ten after a courageous fight with cancer. In later years, with the kids grown, Helen and Clare enjoyed many trips together both domestically and abroad. Helen was predeceased by Clare in March of 1982. Helen was a life long and active member of Central Baptist Church-Church Secretary, Women's Association, Explorers, Mission Circle, Canadian Girls in Training, Deacon and the “Central Quilters“. Her children and nine grandchildren Tim, Adam, Erin, Ian, Ryland, Graham, Claire, Ellie and Tom will especially miss her at family dinners, on the beach and at Christmas. A visitation is planned for STEWART FUNERAL HOME, George Street, Sarnia on Monday December 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. A Private Family Service will be held at Stewart Funeral Home Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with her son, Dean Fraser officiating, assisted by Craig Rumble. Immediately following the service Helen's six grandchildren will deliver her to be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery with her son Tom and husband Clare. An open Fellowship gathering, with all friends welcome to attend, will be held at 3 p.m. in the hall of Central Baptist Church, London Road, Sarnia.
