BUTLER, Helen Margaret, “Safe in the arms of her Saviour Jesus Christ.“ Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on May 13, 2009, days before we could celebrate her 98th birthday. Born in Scotland, to James and Helen Williams. Helen Butler was the widow of N. Ross Butler, whom she was married to for over 50 wonderful years. Together they raised their family in Arkona and Glencoe before settling in Point Edward in the 1950's. Helen Butler was active in her community and Bethel Pentecostal Church. Her wedding cakes were sought after by many brides in the area. Helen was well-respected and loved by those who had the fortune to know her. Helen was the loving mother to Mary Pitfield and Lorna Kemp and mother-in-law to George Pitfield and the late Lloyd Kemp; grandmother to David and Sue Pitfield, Holly Pitfield and fiance Ernie Saucier, Keely Kemp and Andrea and Christopher Page; and great-grandmother to Wayd and Alex Pitfield, Nicolas and Rachel-Lyn Di-Rezze, and Ginger and Lila Page. Predeceased by brothers James and David and sister May. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday afternoon prior to the funeral from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. Funeral Service will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 1:30 PM. Interment to follow at Arkona Cemetery.
