->McGill, Helen M.Brighton: Age 83, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011, at home. She was the daughter of the late Frieda and Dr. Donald McGill. Helen graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in nursing and worked as a nurse at Rochester General Hospital. Later, she began a career as a school nurse with the French Road School , St. Thomas More School, Brighton, and retired as a school nurse at the Klem South School in Webster, NY.Helen's keen interest in animals and the environment inspired her to be an organizer and president of the Preserving Earth Through Education Program (P.E.T.E.), an environmental awareness symposium conducted at Rochester area schools. She is survived by a daughter, Betsey (Douglas) Emerson of Lockport, NY, and six grandchildren.Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
