LEGERE (MacKenzie), Helen Louise - 91, Halifax, died suddenly in her home on May 2, 2004, where she prayed often for a peaceful and dignified death. Born on January 29, 1913, in Eastern Passage, she was a daughter of the late Edward James and Elizabeth Jane (Mombourquette) MacKenzie. Helen's greatest love was her family and especially her grandchildren, to whom she was devoted. She is survived by her children, Jim (Susan), Joan Wood (Don), Shirley Johnson (Alphonse), Janet and Chester (Agnes); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Reginald, Dartmouth; sisters, Viola, Halifax; Alma, Surrey, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband, Eli; son, Michael; brothers, Sinclair and Chester; sister, Lorella "Teenie". A private graveside service will be celebrated by Helen's family.
