Helen 'Honey' Koenig Gardiner NAPLES, FL - Helen "Honey" Koenig Gardiner, 65, of Naples, FL, beloved wife of Richard D. Gardiner, passed away after a brief illness on June 14, 2011. Honey was a native of Trenton, NJ, and had made Naples her permanent residence since 2003. Honey was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Emily Koenig of West Trenton, NJ, and is survived by her brother, Paul (Pete) Koenig and his wife, Pat, of Pennington, NJ; her nephew, Dr. Paul (P. T.) Koenig III and his wife Abigail, of Davis, CA, and her niece, Kimberly Elyanow and her husband Michael of Miami, FL. Honey was a graduate of Ewing High School, Class of 1963, and Skidmore College, Class of 1967, and retired after 25 years of service as deputy director of the New Jersey State Commission of Investigation. Upon her retirement, Honey was actively involved in many charitable women's organizations, having served as president of the Zonta Club of Naples for three of the past four years. Honey will be remembered by her family and her many friends at an 11 a.m. Memorial Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. North in Naples on Saturday, June 18, 2011. Funeral services were handled by Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zonta Club of Naples, c/o Pat Baier, 5903 Fountain Drive, Naples, FL 34119. Checks should be payable to the Zonta Club of Naples.
